Try It Tiny is a unique service that allows you to “it” before you buy “it.” But what is the “it”? Is it simply a new plot of land? Is it an actual tiny house on wheels? Maybe the “it” is referring to a new city or town? Or what if it is a bit more esoteric? What is the “it” is a new frame of mind or a new outlook on life? Whatever the case, “it” can be the center of your attention on a weekend vacation. While long vacations to exotic locales can be incredibly exciting, adventurous, and even refreshing, they can also be exceedingly expensive and focused on everything but what you are truly seeking. It seems that sometimes all you really need is a low-anxiety, fun, memorable, and refreshing weekend away! But how do you make the most of those weekend opportunities? The 5 tips should help with that!
CHOOSE YOUR LOCATION WISELY. Find a place that really speaks to your soul. Whether that is a Secret Island Beachfront Escape in Lakebay, WA or an Urban Beach Bungalow just moments away from downtown Pensacola, FL, find a spot that allows you to really invest in your time there. You certainly don’t want to spend half the weekend going to and from your vacation spot. You want to enjoy each moment, each day.
BRING A BUDDY. How much more fun are adventures when you have someone to share them with? Whether your travel mate is a work friend, a childhood pal, or even a sibling, consider experiencing your weekend away with someone whose company you truly enjoy. It will make every moment that much more amazing!
GO OFF GRID. While this doesn’t mean to cut ties with the electric grid and turn to fire for warmth and rain for a cool, refreshing, glass of water, it does mean to enjoy your weekend in the moment. You aren’t at work so don’t be on call. Your friends likely know you are away so don’t be compelled to text message. Treat your vacation as a super-exclusive outing and challenge yourself to not even post photos on Instagram. Let it be your little secret. If you have to stay connected choose instead to place your phone on Airplane mode and create an “out of office” email responder.
PACK THE SNACKS. Face it. You don’t go see a movie without a little chocolate in a pocket and maybe some trail mix in your bag. So why would you go away for the weekend without your favorite munchies? Don’t rely on the local convenient store or grocery store to carry those chocolate covered espresso beans you have recently become addicted to. Be prepared to provide your own. Besides, it is good to keep snacks on hand. Eating a small bite every couple of hours will keep your energy up so you can fully invest in your weekend adventure!
PACK LIGHT. If your weekend is all about you and you are going to be alone most of the time, don’t feel the need to dress to impress. The beach requires little accouterment and if you are planning to be fireside in the mountains, you will likely want to stay in your comfy pajamas most of the time. That is fine too! The lighter you pack, the more you can focus on making memories rather than getting ready in front of a mirror.
